Have just finished reading this book which accompanied the exhibition at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London. Highly readable and recommended. It gives a fascinating overview of quilting in the British Isles.
The exhibition itself (2010) was well worth a visit ... the most poignant work was the Girl Guide Group's Changi Quilt (see above) which was made under terrible conditions by prisoners of war in Singapore. (WAQ members in Perth may remember the recent talk by one of it's makers)
