I went to a workshop today which showed us various 'quilt -as-you-go' techniques. I have always been dismissive of QAYG, thinking that this method could never be as neat as the traditional way to construct a quilt. Instead it was a revelation!
I love the way that you can do free motion machine quilting in small pieces and sew them together afterwards rather than shoving a huge quilt through the machine.
The samples we made for reference (the quilting was just done quickly so we could get the idea)
