I really love using Helen Godden's technique for Australiana wall quilts. So far I've used kangaroos, cockatoos and lizards.
The animal image must be active in order to give the impression of movement across the quilt, so I'm trying to think what animal to choose next. Red-back spiders, dolphins, sharks and emus spring to mind but what else? koala's are too dopey!
Sharks in shades of blue to represent the water?
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of a underwater quilt.
DeleteWhat about a platypus? They're pretty cute and you can get lots of movement from an image of one swimming.
ReplyDeleteGreat ideas folks!
