Pinjarrah

I recently did a 'Painted skies' two day workshop with Julie Haddrick, who was the guest judge at QuiltWest this year. We learnt to paint beautiful backgrounds on fabric ready to applique and thread paint the foreground. We painted a few samples on the first day, then had to pick one to use on the second day. Luckily one sample had worked really well for me, more by accident than anything else and here is the finished quilt.

It's inspired by a photograph I took of the Murray river at Ravenswood near Pinjarrah WA
