A finished and a closeup. The thing I love about doing this type of quilt is searching for and selecting the fabrics. I always keep my eyes open for unusual patterns and textures, often these are ugly fabrics, which are just handy for a particular spot in a design. I don't use paints or add thread painting to my quilts - the fabrics themselves do the work. Batiks are great too, and I also use both sides of a fabric to change the values. This is only a small quilt but was great fun to put together.
